Buddingh\u2019 Prize has long celebrated the best Dutch-language poetry debuts, highlighting the country\u2019s most promising literary voices. Since 1988, Poetry International has awarded this prize to emerging talent, many of whom have gone on to shape the landscape of contemporary poetry. Past winners include now-celebrated poets like Lieke Marsman, Radna Fabias, Lucas Rijneveld, and Maarten van der Graaff.Curious about today\u2019s rising stars? <em>Buddingh\u2019 Talent<\/em> puts the spotlight on the four nominees for the 2026 C. Buddingh\u2019 Prize. Director Yahmani Blackman will welcome the poets onstage, in a unique setting that will let them shine even brighter. Hosted by Francis Broekhuijsen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the C. Her debut collection <em>De vogelgrens oversteken<\/em> was published in September 2025 by Atlas Contact. Vreedzaam is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting voices in Dutch poetry. With her sharp, observant eye and exuberant use of language, partly rooted in hip hop and inspired by Sranantongo and Surinamese Maroon languages, she is steadily building a distinctive body of work. Her debut collection <em>verblijf<\/em> was published in March 2025 and was nominated for the Ida Gerhardt Poetry Prize (2026) and the Herman de Coninck Prize (2026).
