Since her debut <em>De steen vreest mij<\/em> (2011), awarded the C. Buddingh\u2019 prize, she has developed into one of the most influential voices in Dutch poetry. She writes columns for <em>NRC<\/em> and <em>De Morgen<\/em>, presents poetry slams, and is the co-host of the popular podcast BoekenFM. With bestsellers like <em>Olijven moet je leren lezen<\/em>, she makes poetry accessible to a wide audience. In 2024, Deckwitz was appointed as the city poet of Amsterdam.
