Music has been part of her life since she began learning piano at the age of six, and her passion deepened when she later discovered South American and West African percussion, singing, and the Malian kamale ngoni. She has been composing since the age of 13, with her work strongly influenced by African and Latin American musical traditions. Ghils currently teaches Latin American percussion at the ArtEZ Conservatory and is involved in various musical projects.
