Rafael Evitan Grombelka, one of Germany’s most prominent deaf artists, brings a unique Sign Language Performance workshop to the Poetry International Festival. In an intimate group of up to five participants, you’ll learn how to elevate your poetry in sign language. Discover how movement, handshapes, space, and facial expressions can come together to create poetry, and develop your own short performance. Rafael demonstrates examples, guides practical exercises, and fills your personal performance toolkit with insights from his extensive experience as an actor, director, and performer. Participants will also have the opportunity to present their work on the festival stage, putting their new skills into practice immediately!
