Nadine Rypkema (NLD) is a Rotterdam-based composer, guitarist, spoken word artist, and biology student. In her practice, art and science are deeply intertwined: her work unfolds as an ongoing exploration of sound and of what it means to be a living being on earth. Through poetry, theatrical elements, and a blend of acoustic and electronic sound, she gives shape to her fascination with life. And the feeling that everything is interconnected.

Rooted in a background in classical guitar, with training in jazz composition and a strong affinity for theatre and language, her musical language is rich and layered. Her songs carry traces of Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, and Roosbeef, while other works echo the experimental qualities of Suzanne Ciani and Terry Riley.
