In conversation with Arlo Parks

What lies behind the voice of this London songwriter and poet?

Main language: English

Spoken languages: English

Surtitles: English, Dutch

The acclaimed London singer-songwriter and poet Arlo Parks (GBR, 2000) moves effortlessly between poetry and music. Everything she creates reveals the immense power of words, which is why we are delighted to welcome Parks to Poetry International this year. She will speak about her relationship with poetry: what connections run between her music and poems, which themes currently occupy her, and who inspires her as a poet? Naturally, Parks will also read from her poetry debut The Magic Border (2023), in which she explores themes such as queerness, grief, trauma, and love. A conversation and reading to look forward to!

Please note: you can also see Arlo Parks earlier on Friday afternoon at the festival, where she will give a poetry masterclass at Het Veerhuis, including a Q&A.
