Charisa Chotoe

Charisa Chotoe (1993) is a Dutch-Surinamese poet, presenter and journalist. At sunrise, she works as a geopolitical journalist for Bureau Buitenland at VPRO, but as soon as evening falls, she continues writing poetry. In her poems, she connects language, identity, love and social narratives. She was one of the finalists of the SPOKEN! Awards 2023 and has previously performed at venues such as the Van Gogh Museum, Nieuwe Luxor Theatre, Mensen Zeggen Dingen and many others.
