You probably know her best for her dreamy indie-soul-bedroom-pop (hits like “Eugene” and “Black Dog”), or for her brand-new album Ambiguous Desire, but London singer-songwriter Arlo Parks (GBR, 2000) is also a poet. In 2023, she published her poetry debut The Magic Border, in which she explores themes such as queerness, grief, trauma, and love. During Poetry International Festival, Arlo Parks will give a unique poetry masterclass – think of it as a glimpse into her creative process, in which she explores how complicated feelings can be transformed into poetry and how that alchemy of writing can become a form of healing. What matters most to her when writing poems? What does poetry offer her that music perhaps cannot, or how does it complement her music? Be inspired by this global star!
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions during the session.
Arlo Parks will take the stage again on Friday evening for a special appearance at the Poetry International Festival, where she will be interviewed and give a unique poetry performance.
