Storytelling is an ancient art form that has been revitalized by contemporary practitioners, with people around the world drawing inspiration from both age-old myths and fables and present-day developments. The overlap between poetry and storytelling is significant, as poets use storytelling techniques to bring narrative poems more fully to life, while storytellers enrich their work with poetic rhythm and imagery. They also weave activist messages into their stories and performances in layered and nuanced ways.
During this workshop, you will be guided by the founder of storytelling house Mezrab, Sahand Sahebdivan, a deeply passionate and experienced storyteller. You will create your own narrative based on activist and poetic slogans, while learning techniques to elevate both the form and the message of your story.
