Milka Martins is a multidisciplinary artist, producer and cultural initiator, and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of female representation within the Dutch hiphop scene. As a self-taught artist, she developed into a singer, rapper, producer, songwriter and audio engineer, driven by a strong artistic vision, curiosity and determination. Alongside her own work, she focuses on creating space for others within the industry. In 2018, she founded Goddess Of The Mic: a platform, label and publishing initiative for female and non-binary artists and creatives. Through this platform, she conducts research into the visibility of women in the Dutch hiphop scene. She translates the insights from this work into her projects within the cultural sector. With Goddess Of The Mic, she advocates for greater balance, representation and sustainable support within a male-dominated industry, making space for diverse voices and artistic identities.
