Kila van der Starre is Assistant Professor of Modern Dutch Literature and head of the BA programme in Dutch Language and Culture at Utrecht University. She obtained her PhD in 2021 with the dissertation Poetry Outside the Book. The Circulation and Use of Poetry, and is the founder of the crowdsourcing website Straatpoezie.nl. Together with Jeroen Dera and Sarah Posman, she co-edited the essay collection Dichters van het nieuwe millennium, and with Babette Zijlstra she created the poetry activity book 24 uur in het licht van Kila & Babsie in the woorden temmen series. In 2024, she served as chair of the jury for the P.C. Hooft Prize.
